hpux v3 install in rx 3660
Hi
I am facing a strange problem here while installing HPUX v3 on server. Server is with 8gb memory and 4 * 72 gb disks. It was preloaded with 11iv2. I have booted from base OE DVD and started installation but it is giving error as in attached putty console output.
I dont understand why it is refering to USB where as I dont have any USB drive attached to the server. Is it because of media? I have done installation of another server with same media.
please help!!!
thanks

Shalom,
The output as attached is very difficult to understand.
A grapical/bmp/jpeg screen shot may be more helpful in this case.
What is the file format of your attachment, it looks like gibberish in gedit.

Re: hpux v3 install in rx 3660
There's no such system as a rx3660 - you either have a rx2660 or a rx3600...
>> I dont understand why it is refering to USB where as I dont have any USB drive attached to the server. Is it because of media?
Yes you *do* have a USB drive... the DVD ROM in the rx2660/rx3600 is attached via a USB interface so that's where the error message comes from.
It could be the media, but the fact you've had success elsewhere suggests maybe not, nso might be a problem with the DVD drive interface. If you don't have another set of media to try, I'd get a hardware call open with the response centre...

Re: hpux v3 install in rx 3660
Sreejith,
Faced exatly the same issue sir.
The The rx2600, 3600 and 6600 DVD-ROM drive is USB based. Flaky at times. What I did was I simply had the asked for another DVD media set and it worked.
Other possibilities though in your case:
Defective DVD-ROM drive
Dirty/Scratchy DVD Media
Hope this helps.
