Re: HPUX11.00 can't boot

Try hitting the Ctrl Shift \ keys together to see if you can bypass the script and get further in the boot.

By chance did you install anything prior to the reboot?

If the system will boot, try running:
# swconfig \*

Then check the status of the filesets afterwards.
# swlist -l fileset -a state |egrep -e "inst|tran|corr"

Re: HPUX11.00 can't boot

hi !
any patches since the last reboot ?
if yes, did you checked the /etc/rc.log ?
can you boot as a single user or did the problem appear before the choice ?

Re: HPUX11.00 can't boot

Hi,
Try to boot it in single user mode and trace
the problem in swinstall.log,syslog,shutdownlog..,etc..,

Was the kernel recreated in you last reboot while installing any software or patch..etc..,
If yes then you can always try to boot from the previous kernel and then analyze the swinstall.log files

Re: HPUX11.00 can't boot

Hi.
thanks for replay
I found the problem!
End-users deleted /tmp file system and it was the reason why machine can't boot.
Now i fixed it.
thanks again

Re: HPUX11.00 can't boot

Hi,

How the end-users could delete the
file-system ?
Time to secure and audit your server..

Enjoy....

I would follow Ettienne's advice - after you've taken the users out into the car park and given them a thoroughly good kicking!

Re: HPUX11.00 can't boot

It's OK
my end-users must have root permissions to make their job.
them deleted Mount point (/tmp) and also commented it in /etc/fstab
But them forgot to inform me.

So if it is OK then have a look at this thread:
