hi....we recently rebuilt our hpux11.11 server. However, dhcp is not working. When we manually strap an ip to the NIC, it works fine. When we enable dhcp on the nic, it does not automatically receive an ip address from the network. We plug another server into the same network, and it obtains an ip address.
can anyone shed some light on this?
Regards,
Chad

Solution
Shalom,
There have been bugs.
Try installing the latest bi-annual QPK/Gold for the OS
After that, do a tcpdump from another box and see what the traffic if any looks like while trying to obtain a DHCP address.
Servers to be useful generally need a fixed IP address, because clients need to know where they are. Its probably better to just set a fixed IP address for the server.
