hpvm - Vswitch relation to lanx

Hi All,

Both the below commands were run from HPVM Host.
Is to possible to relate vswitch vswB1 to lan3 using these two outputs only.

Note: This can be done by using hpvmnet command.

# hpvmstatus -p 02
[Network Interface Details]
Interface Adaptor Name/Num Bus Dev Ftn Mac Address
========= ========== ========== === === === =================
vswitch lan vswB 0 1 0 1a-d7-56-07-d4-e3
vswitch lan vswB1 0 2 0 d6-69-71-b3-20-69 <<

# lanscan

Re: hpvm - Vswitch relation to lanx

No you can not,

Because from the output
# hpvmstatus -p 02
what is seeing is the MAC address of virtual NIC card of the VM.

This is differet from vSwitch.

if you go inside VM and run lanscan you would see the same MAC address as in hpvmstatus -p 02 output.

Re: hpvm - Vswitch relation to lanx

Looks like we cannot relate MAC address of vswitch (guest) to that in Host only by looking their address.

# hpvmnet -V # shows above relation clearly

Thanks for your help Kapil.
