hu/ux for Apollo series 735

I have aquired an HP Apollo series 735 system, both hard drives are bad, one is dead the boot drive is damaged beyond repair. I have new drives to put in it but am in dire need of the o/s to install on it. Any suggestions on the proper way to aquire said o/s would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
There was a time, when HP offered to the owners of series 700 the opportunity to upgrade for free to HP-UX10.20, the best for you would be to find a copy, or see with HP want they are ready to offer you...
I did have such a copy but cant find it...

Good luck

Greetings!
The Apollo Domain operating system is considered vintage software.

The 735 will run HP-UX or, if you are adventurous, Linux (available through the Puffin Group). It will NOT run DomainOS, which was released only on Motorola 68K and Apollo-designed RISC hardware.

Optionally, you might try asking your local HP office to see if you could borrow their copy of HP-UX 10.20...

Actually, I am migrating a 715 from 10.20 to 11.0
It is during for three hours now, but no complaints from swinstall.
In my opinion you can just boot from an UX-11 Core CD. (Didnt try that though)

You might try HP to see if they are still passing out the Y2K migration kit. :)
That comes with 10.20. You need to provide HP the serial number of your machine.

Apart from the OS though, you might want to see if your system would be able to support the newer OS's
