hw.info file question.
Hello guys,
I would like to ask what is the role of the hw.info file? We have 11.11 and 11.23 boxes, and on the 11.23 the hw.info file gets generated during the client add in the GUI, but on 11.11 the file isn't generated. We have problem with 11.11 box where rescan_hw_host and the client isn't added to the GUI. We made a dummy file hw.info and after adding it to the GUI the script skipped the calling of the rescan_hw_host so we were able to make backups.
What is the purpose of that hw.info file? Is it only informatianal or is it needed for restore?

Re: hw.info file question.
Hi,
Please search the "Ignite-UX Reference" for 'hw.info':
http://docs.hp.com/en/5187-4555/5187-4555.pdf
'hw.info' contains hardware info about the client used by the Ignite-UX server.

Re: hw.info file question.
Hi,
Thanks for the tip, but the topic still remains. How come 11.23 boxes have that file and some 11.11 don't have it at all. Althought they got added from the GUI too, as usual. We looked at the scripts that are getting called when a client is added and the part with the rescan_hw_host is missing all together from the script on 11.11. Is it that this file is needed for 11.23 but not for 11.11? The boxes that don't have the hw.info are having the Ignite-UX-11-11 and B5725AA installed. The one box 11.11 that try's to generate that file and hangs has only IUX-Recovery installed. What is the right way to do it, with or without the hw.info? And how come the part about calling hw.info is missing from one script for 11.11 and is present in the same script in 11.11?
