HyperFabric compatibility question
Hi,
Can I connect a A6386A card on a A4891A Switch.
The A6386A Card is HF2, and the switch A4891A iis HF1!
Are this products works together?
Thank's!!!

Re: HyperFabric compatibility question
Hi,
Nope. The A6386A card uses a Hyperfabric 2 (HF2) Fiber connector, the switch A4891A uses a Hyperfabric 1 (HF1) copper. To mix HF2 Fiber cards and HF1 Fiber cards in the same switch, you need to use the HF2 Switch chassis (A6384A)with a the A6389A expansion switch module with 4 copper ports. The A6389A is still considered a HF2 component because it can only be used with the A6384A HF2 switch
chassis). I do not believe that you can cross-connect HF1 and HF2 switches (containing the copper expansion module). I am sorry to tell you this since I know that the switches are expensive. I really think that if you need confirmation on the switch cross-connect issue, you should check with the HP Marketing folks for network products directly.
Hope this helps,
