I can not build a new kernel

Hello Freeks,

we have an C3600 with HP-UX 11.00.
It was not possible to install the QPK1100_B.11.00.64.4.depot. The installprocess
stopt with the message that swinstall can not
build a new kernel.
If I call the function mk_kernel the system output teh message
"Generating module: krm...
/stand/build/mod_wk.d/krm/mod_sec.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized
*** Error exit code 1

Stop.
config: make did an exit(1)"

I need help to clean the problem

You could remove the file /stand/build/mod_wk.d/krm/mod_sec.o, providing there is a /stand/build/mod_wk.d/krm/mod_sec.c file, as it should be replaced. If you do not like to remove it, rename it say mod_sec.o.safe, you can always restore it if you want. Then to rebuild the kernel

Have you by chance installed PHKL_18543 and then reinstalled it.

That can cause this issue.

Other possibility is some files are missing. You'd want to get them off a backup.

thanks for your message. I try to reinstall patch PHKL_18543 but it was not posible.

The issue of swinstall is

"/stand/build/mod_wk.d/krm/mod_sec.o: file not recognized: File format not recognized"
