i/o hang

dear all,
I have 10 disk in one storage box .When i am triying to install os in between on of the harddisk . hardrdisk hangs give panic error i/o subsytem hang .pls givev me solution to come out this problem

I don't know what system you have, but I would check the connections and settings first.

A bad disk, perhaps?

Are you trying to install the OS on the internal disks or on the external storage enclosure? If the system panics and reboots you should check the hard disk and its controller for defects...they could be bad.

Shalom,

Make sure the scsi is properly terminated on the disk array. That class of server will probably not do well booting off the external disk array.

What is it?

If you connect internal and external devices to the same HBA, check for unique SCSI iD's!

Do you already have an OS installed and running with any of the disks (internal r extenal)?Check all the ten disks are visible then ?is the installation failing when you pick any one from the 10 avaialbel?
