I want to update my dld.sl file.

Hi All

The application team is demanding an updated dld.sl file for one of my HPUX servers running 11.00. The current file is dated September 18,2003.

Could any of you tell me whether there is an update for this file and which patch could update this file?

It may be useful to know why the application team require a new dld.sl library.
Are they experiencing a problem, if yes what is the problem and any error messages.

Try the patch database. The easiest way to update this is with the linker, so look for ld patches.

You never want to 'update' dld.sl, but instead get the latest patch for dld.sl which will almost always have dependencies. The dld.sl file is critical to almost every process on the system and occasionally changes are made to this file which will break commands and other features in the OS. In this case, PHSS_30969 you'll notice that this is not a simple patch with one file (ie, dld.sl) but almost 100 separate files which must be updated (because they depend on the way that dld.sl works). Install the patch and you should be OK.

I ultimately loaded a patch and got the dld.sl file updated to what I wanted. I forgot to update this thread and now I dont remember the patch number. Thanks to all those who responded.
