ia-ux servers and workstations
Has anyone had a look at the latest ia64 hp offerings and or had a chance to compare the relative performance to the PA 8700s?

I'd love to hear more on this...
Later,
Bill

Re: ia-ux servers and workstations
I haven't tried them directly, but from the benchmarks I've seen floating point performance should rock. Integer performance should also be strong.
I'd expect IO and memory access would be about the same given the same busses, IO controlers, etc., though.
Also expect performance on some more complex applications (Oracle comes to mind) to be the same at best until there's been more time for tuning.
But these are just my conjectures.
