IBM 3580 with rp4440
We downloaded the drivers for HP11i(64bit) from
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=3580&uid=ssg1S4000102&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us〈=en
When we run the InstallAtdd script, it says that the driver is not supported for rp4440s. We go ahead anyway, and sure enough all tape devices are still UNCLAIMED.
Does anyone know if this config is supported - rp4440 with IBM 3580 Ultrium 2 LTOs? If so, could someone please direct us to the driver?
Thanks
Prasad.

Re: IBM 3580 with rp4440
As per the AtDD driver documentation from IBM website, it doesn't look like supported on the rp44xx's.
This is from the install doc, ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/Doc/IBM_ultrium_tape_IUG.pdfATDD Implementation
The ATDD is supported for operation in the following HP-UX platform
environment:
v HP PCI Bus - HP-UX 11.00 (64-bit) - Versions of this driver are identified by
levels ATDD 1.x.x.x. rp54xx (formerly L-Class), rp74xx (formerly N-Class), and
rp8400 (formerly V-Class) servers are supported.
v HP PCI Bus - HP-UX 11i (64-bit) - Versions of this driver are identified by levels
ATDD 3.x.x.x. rp54xx (formerly L-Class), rp74xx (formerly N-Class), and rp8400
(formerly V-Class) servers are supported.
From my experience, IBM drivers are very picky about supported platforms. There may be inherent architectural differences involved.

Re: IBM 3580 with rp4440
I think you need to lobby IBM on this one. The rp4440 is new, a February 2004 introduction, so IBM would have to get the updated patched version of 11i for the pa-8800 and update their driver.
