Hi,
Please find the icapstatus output below:
Local nPartition Status

Total number of configured cores: 32

Number of active cores: 20
Number of inactive cores: 12
Additional cores that can be activated with current usage rights: 8
Number of cores that could be activated with additional usage rights: 4
Number of cores that can be activated with temporary capacity: 4
Number of cores that are deconfigured or attached to inactive cells: 0

Instant Capacity Resource Summary
---------------------------------
Number of cells without usage rights: 0
Number of inactive cells: 0
Amount of memory without usage rights: 0.0 GB
Amount of inactive memory: 0.0 GB
Number of cores without usage rights: 16
Number of inactive cores: 24
Number of cores using temporary capacity: 0
Temporary capacity available: 19 days, 8 hours, 0 minutes
Projected temporary capacity expiration: N/A

I need to activate 4 cores. If you see the output

Number of cores without usage rights: 16
Number of inactive cores: 24
I have 8 inactive cores with usage rights. Can I use icapmodify -a 4 instead of activating the Ticap icapmodify -t -a 4?

Thanks,
Srini

Re: icapmodify query

I would say yes.
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"

Re: icapmodify query

Hi,
Additional cores that can be activated with current usage rights: 8

1)IS that mean I have 8 cores in the superdome with usage rights but de-activated?
2)Is that 8 cores are icap cores or normal cores?

Thanks,
Srinivasan
