Identifying host ports

I have been asked to identify the host ports that are in use on several HPUX servers and also what they are used for. I know that the /etc/services file has not been well maintained and that there are services running on ports not documemnted not in there. Does anyone know the best and most complete way of finding this out ?
Thanks in Advance

Re: Identifying host ports

Tools like nport, portscan would help.
You can get nport at porting centre.

Re: Identifying host ports

You can use rpcinfo to scan ports registered with that hostname.

Few tools more as,

1. netstat -na | grep port
2. lsof -i:port
3. telnet port

to check whether port is in use or not.

hth.
Easy to suggest when don't know about the problem!
