Re: Idisk problem

Hi Shanmugam,

Just a thought, but I have always used the command with the parameters separated. e.g.

#idisk -f /tmp/shan -w /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0

Re: Idisk problem

Some points to check:

# ioscan -fnCdisk

# diskinfo -v /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0

# idisk /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0

# dd if=/dev/rdsk/c2t1d0 of=/dev/null bs=1024k

Results?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Idisk problem

Hi Shanmugan,
The syntax you provided is wrong, it should be
idisk -wf /tmp/partitionfile /dev/rdsk/cXtXdX

Anyway, attach is a copy of the mirror step for 11.23. Hope it help

Re: Idisk problem

Hello
You must check about your disk partition, you must destroy first. I guess your efi partition already created but for HPUX you got error. please destroy all partition at the disk first with command:

idisk -R /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0

after that, run idisk command for create new partition.

thanks

Re: Idisk problem

The correct way to do this is:

# vi /tmp/partitionfile
3
EFI 500MB
HPUX 100%
HPSP 400MB
# idisk -wf /tmp/partitionfile /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0
idisk version: 1.31
********************** WARNING ***********************
If you continue you may destroy all data on this disk.
Do you wish to continue(yes/no)? yes <-- Answer "yes" and not "y"

Create device files needed for the new partitions.
# insf -eC disk

Verify the partition table.
# idisk /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0

Hope this help.
