Idle status of CPU during bootup
I took a look at the status of 'System Properties' in SAM for these processors and status both showed active.
Anyone knows what it means and which is the more 'accurate' status?
Thanks

Re: Idle status of CPU during bootup
In SMP the System considers one CPU as master and other as slaves.
So at the time of Booting the master works and the slave is idle while when the system boots both of them are active to give you the SMP feature.
So No need to worry everything is alright with your system.

Re: Idle status of CPU during bootup
it is normal status for 2nd CPU. Don't worry about that, all is ok.
A good check was by SAM to verify that CPUs are active.
Best regards,
Ettore

Re: Idle status of CPU during bootup
As you have got two CPUs in the system, one will be your monarch and others the slave. Monarch CPU will only be active during the system bootup and the other will be idle.
If you really fear about any miscrepancy, Install the Online Diag bundle and you will have the STM installed along with it. It will report errors if any.
Also processor related errors are reported in the GSP logs too.
You are definitely having 2 working CPUs. no need of any worries
With best wishes

Re: Idle status of CPU during bootup
even in rp7400 which has 8 cpu's while booting it shows cpu-0 is active rests are inactive. after boot all the cpu's will be active. kernel always searches for high priority channel( in cpu it is cpu-0)
