IDS Install

I have just tried to swinstall the HIDS_B.03.01.03_HP-UX_B.11.11_32+64.depot

HP-UX smithers B.11.11 U 9000/831 2010211130 unlimited-user license
getconf KERNEL_BITS
32
9000/831/D350

I got errors that need to be resloved.

openssl.OPENSSL-LIB
"openssl.OPENSSL-LIB,r>=A.00.09.07-d,fa=HP-UX_B.11.11_32/64"

Is this a patch for Secure Shell?

Anyway I have just found there is no Java installed on this box.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Java SDK 1.3.1 or later, as I have looked to no avail.

Have some points

Rich

Re: IDS Install

OpenSSL is a separate product that can be downloaded from http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=OPENSSL11I

If you want to download Secure Shell,
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1471AA

Re: IDS Install

Hi

Thanks for your help im getting there.

I have Java installed and installed the OPENSSL but unfortunately no LIB so I cant get IDS installed. Does anyone know of OPENSSL with -LIB

smithers>swlist -l fileset openssl
# Initializing...
# Contacting
openssl 0.9.8a openssl
openssl.opensslINC
openssl.opensslMAN
openssl.opensslRUN openssl.opensslSHLIBS
Have some more points ;-)

Re: IDS Install

OpenSSL should have LIBS fileset, anyways just check with the depot itself,

#swlist -l fileset -s

Re: IDS Install

It hasnt got openssl-lib and the IDS install bails on this. Is there another version of OPENSSL that has lib and not just shlib

as the swlis filesets shows

Re: IDS Install

Why dont you try with Snort which is an Opensource IDS and ported to HP-UX as well, you can give a try with IXSnort

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXIEXP1111
[version : Snort A.05.00-2.4.3 ]

www.snort.org for more information

Re: IDS Install

There is an Opensource version of OpenSSL available for download from Porting center,

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Languages/openssl-0.9.8a/

I am not sure installing this depot this will resolve your problem. Give it a shot.
