IE5 sp1 for HP-UX v11 - Installation problem.
Has anyone out there successfully extracted the download file for IE5. I've tried both the current and previous versions, on two different machines, b2600 and C110.
It appears to fail whilst extracting the library files, complaining about permissions or disk space. I've checked both and it's not the case ! Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers
Russ.

Hi Russ

Re: IE5 sp1 for HP-UX v11 - Installation problem.
From my reading and testing it is not even worth the effort. IE5 uses an external java engine (slow!), crashes cronically, and just does not display properly.
The solaris version is not "as" bad, but none are like the PC version.
Regards,
Shannon

Re: IE5 sp1 for HP-UX v11 - Installation problem.
I have tried the earlier version of IE on HPUX, and that was very I thought it may have improved with age! If it's still slow I won't try any harder.
P.S. patching the machine still didn't help un-bundle the exe file.
Cheers
