ifconfig command and netconf file

All,

I understood the ifconfig command to change the values in the '/etc/rc.config.d/netconf' file. Am I mistaken in this? It does not appear to edit this file on my system. Must I edit it manually after issuing the ifconfig commands? I am using HP-UX 10.20.

Grant,
You are correct, ifconfig will not modify the netconf file. Only by editting that file will you be able to change the parameters on boot.

To make the changes permanently you need to edit netconf file
