Ignite and auto-port aggregation
Hello,
we test auto-port aggregation on a rp-3440 with hpux 11.11 and 2 NIC's. The apa is manually configured (Failover only).
That's all OK. This server is our Ignitesever and I want to install a new Client from this Server (boot lan.192.123.23.11 install). Day's ago without apa installed that was no problem. Now wenn I start then installation
the Igniteserver lose his netwokconnection.
Only a reboot helps. A newinstall from the Igniteserver to a client works. Any Ideas??
Regards Peter

Re: Ignite and auto-port aggregation
My ignite server has 3 interfaces -- 2 are on APA (Failover) and used as the main interface (hostname) and 1 is used for a separate subnet. I can use both interfaces APA and the non-APA to ignite clients from either networks. No problems as well with Ignite Backup.
I am using Ignite-UX 5.35.
Can you elaborate further what actually happens? Do you mean the Ignite Server hangs when a client attempts to boot lan to it and your only recourse is to reboot the Ignite Server?

Re: Ignite and auto-port aggregation
Hi, Peter,
Can you give more details?
Did the ignite server stop work after APA was installed on the "ignite server"?
If that is the case, can you post /etc/rc.config.d/lanmon/lanconfig.ascii
/etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaconf
/etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaportconf?
Also, what do you mean "A new install from the Ignite server to a client works"? Do you mean that "after reboot, everything works"?

Re: Ignite and auto-port aggregation
Hi Nelson & Xianjie
I use Ignite B.5.4.50
The Ignite server is still running, but the network hangs on the ignite server if a client request a install (boot lan. xxxxx)
In this case no ping, telnet .... works on the ignite server (reboot helps). If I made a "newinnstall" from the ignite server for a client (has a os installed and is up) this works well.
/etc/rc.config.d/lanmon/lanconfig.ascii
= not exist
/etc/rc.config.d/hp_apaconf
HP_APA_START_LA_PPA=900
HP_APA_DEFAULT_PORT_MODE=MANUAL
HP_APA_INIT_ARGS="HP_APA_LOAD_BALANCE_MODE HP_APA_GROUP_CAPABILITY HP_APA_HOT_STANDBY HP_APA_MANUAL_LA HP_APA_INIT HP_APA_KEY"
# End of hp_apaconf configuration file
HP_APA_INTERFACE_NAME[0]=lan900
HP_APA_LOAD_BALANCE_MODE[0]=LB_MAC
HP_APA_HOT_STANDBY[0]=off
HP_APA_GROUP_CAPABILITY[0]=5
