Re: ignite and mirror O/S

Because ignite/UX doesn't support mirroring. (Or it must have been added in a newer version that I don't know about)

It will restore your configuration to a single side of the mirror, but you will have to reconfigure mirroring yourself.

Re: ignite and mirror O/S

Hi:

Mirrored disk are *not* (re)established after an Ignite recovery. You must do this yourself, either "manually" or with a script. I believe that a new feature request exists fot this as it is a common request of Ignite users.

Regards!

Re: ignite and mirror O/S

I just built a little script and stuck it where I knew I could find it after an image is blasted out. It is of the form:

Flasher:jjp /# more mirrorjjp
vgreduce /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
pvcreate -f -B /dev/rdsk/c3t15d0
vgextend /dev/vg00 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
mkboot /dev/rdsk/c3t15d0
mkboot -a "hpux -lq" /dev/rdsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol1 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol2 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol3 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol4 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol5 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol6 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol7 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol8 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol9 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvextend -m 1 /dev/vg00/lvol10 /dev/dsk/c3t15d0
lvlnboot -R

Within 10 minutes of an install, the machine is mirrored again...

Re: ignite and mirror O/S

HI
By default the make_recovery will not include mirror information. If you want that to be included, create the make_recovery first in preview mode (make_tape_recovery -p ...) then edit/append the file /var/opt/ignite/recovery/config.recover to include your mirror information in "post_config_cmd" section.

Or create mirror manually once the system is ignited with ignite tape.

Thanks.
Prashant.
Take it as it comes.
