Ignite and shared VGs mirrored on two EVAs
Hi everyone....
I have two servers rx4640 and two EVA 3000.
This rx4640 servers form a MC/SG Cluster with Oracle RAC, where the oracle data (raw devices) it's saved in one of the EVA, and mirrored on the other EVA with Mirror Disk Software.
I want to make the ignite recovery process, but I don't know if a mirror configuration for each VG that save the Oracle Data in the EVAs (no boot vgs) will stay after the recover process has been completed.
How I can replicate the configuration in the server that I'm going to recover without making the mirror config process again, for each vg??
Thanks in advanced...
Francisco.

Re: Ignite and shared VGs mirrored on two EVAs
It doubt it will take successful ignite backup for Oracle VGs since those files will be keep on changing while your ignite backup running. Why don't you take using rmon backup or Veritas netbackup?

Re: Ignite and shared VGs mirrored on two EVAs
Years ago, I wrote a wrapper script around make_tape_recovery command, that captured all of the mirrordisk information, and then would restore it after system recovery.
It IS possible to do this.
To keep things simple, I'd consider writing a script to capture your mirrordisk config. Leave it out there in /usr/local/bin, and it will be there after you recover the O/S.
