Ignite Backup on SAN LUN ---Possible?
Dear friends,
Here we have two rx-8640 boxes with 4 vPars in each box, all running HP-UX 11.31. All the vPars are connected to an EVA4400 SAN.
Out of these 4 vPars of each node there is a testing vPar and between these two test vPars (i.e. one test vPar from each node) a RDBMS (sybase) Cluster is running for testing purpose only.
My quarries are:
1) Can I configure these two test vPars as Ignite server for each other Box i.e test vPar of Box1 will serve as a Ignite Server of all the 4 vPars of Box2 and vice-versa?
2) Can I take the ignite backup on SAN LUNs only?
3) If yes, will the sybase cluster be disturbed?
Would anybody comment about its feasibility and pros and cons?
Regards...
Kuntal Gupta
