Ignite backup problem

I am trying to do ignite backup but I am having some problems in doing so. The backup seems to hung at the following point:

Checking Versions of Ignite-UX filesets
* Creating System Configuration.
* /opt/ignite/bin/save_config -f
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/2008-12-02,14:18/system_cfg vg00

I have changed the tapes but still the backup is not going beyond this point.

Can any one give me a clue?

Re: Ignite backup problem

what made you change the tape?

Re: Ignite backup problem

Because it is not moving beyond this point, so I assume that the tape is bad. Thats why I changed it.

Re: Ignite backup problem

doesn't appear that it ever got to the point where it would start writing to tape.

Any idea what to check and how to troubleshoot this problem.

Run tusc to see what it is doing?
Either now or start from the beginning.

<<>>

before permoing Ignite backup,

# ioscan -fnC tape

# mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn status --> check the status wether tape, loaded than proceed to perform the make_tape_recovery

Check the recovery.log for make_tape_recovery

#cd /var/opt/ignite/recovery/latest/
# tail recovery.log

Thanks,
Johnson
