We have 2 K580 model servers at our site. Till today one of the K580 server named 'earth (HP-UX 11.0 64-bit)' is up and running fine with out any issues.
The other K580 server named 'jupiter' is down at the moment, due to no OS (HP-UX 11.0 64-bit).
Here my question is, can I use the Ignite backup of 'earth' server and restore it on to 'jupiter' server?
Afterwards,I will change the hostname and IP address on 'jupiter' server.
Is this plan works?
I really appreciate your response.
Thank you,
Nikee

Re: Ignite Backup - System Recovery
When yo do the interactive restore, select clone to to new hardware = yes That way if there any hardware differences ignite can take them into account

Re: Ignite Backup - System Recovery
I am going to take the Ignite backup in few minutes and restore it in next couple of hours.
I will update you all how it goes.
I truly appreciate all of your recommendations and suggestions.
Thank you,
Nikee

Re: Ignite Backup - System Recovery
Answer: Yes, the hardware is exactly the same, making it easier.
You will need to manualy intervene at the console when the Ignite tape provides a prompt for changing the installation.
You must change the hostname and more important , the ip address otherwise when the newly cloned machine comes up, both will drop off the network.
You may need to make filesysem adjustments in case the disk layout and amount is different.
