I am getting the following error in make_tape_recovery file.
what does it mean?
pax: Type "go" when ready to proceed (or "quit" to abort): ^G
pax: Unable to prompt user: /dev/tty is unavailable.
WARNING: The pax command returned a non-zero exit status (exit status 1).
* Creation of system archive complete.

Re: Ignite backup
Not sure what you have included in the tape archive through the command, but it looks like the tape archive is being spanned across more than one tape. In that case it might be asking to change the media to proceed further.
Check the command and the messages it is displaying thereafter.

Solution
Hello,
It's because your archive is greater than the capacity of your tape. You can try with the option -p for making a preview and control the size, and after resuming with the option -r.
The size of your archive should be less than the size of your tape without compression.
Hope this helps.

Good judgement comes with experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgement.

Re: Ignite backup
Hi,
The size of backup is more than the capacity of the media causing the tar to prompt for new media.
A good reson for this is probably you are backing too much. The intention of the ignite should be to back up only vg00 and other methods should be used to take other backups.
HTH,
