ignite backup

Hi,

Is it OK to run make_tape_recovery without bringing down the oracle database. Will it effect the server performance or the integrity of the ignite backup?

FYI, there is no one accessing the database during the backup process.

Thanks in advance

Yes. An Ignite backup has nothing to do with the DB. Ignite is for VG00 only, which should only contain the OS.

Re: ignite backup

if you do not include DB file system in make_tape_recovery, than its not a big deal for performance.
