ignite client

Is there an installable client for ignite apart from the full ignite server depot?

I just want the make_tape_recovery and make_net_recovery portions for client machines.

Re: ignite client

Have you thried copy the files from another server and exec?
I don't think it will work, but i would like to know what the end of this is going to be.
I will try it on a N-class tomorrow...

Hope it works!

Re: ignite client

You can set up a client profile that goes directly to the make_net_recovery archive.

I don't know how you would do that to a make_tape_recovery since that was intended in its design to be installed off a local tape device which can not be shared last I checked.

Re: ignite client

When you do the swinstall of the Ignite-UX product, just mark the RECOVERY fileset for install. The Ignite-UX.RECOVERY fileset contains the disaster recovery tools if all you're wanting is to keep the install to a minimum so you can make a recovery tape or network archive. However, when you download the IUX product from software.hp.com,

I don't think they split the disaster recovery tools off as a seperate (smaller) download. You'd have to download the whole thing then install the min you want.

hope this helps,
