Ignite cloning

Hi Gurus,

I am trying to ignite clone HP-UX 11.00 from N4000-75 to rp3410 with san boot on EVA3400. There are no issues with the hardware since ignite clone for HP-UX 11.11 from L2000-44 was running successfully.

Ignite clone starts well, but hangs at

Boot

8728576 + 1348408 + 20751736 start 0x27d868

It does not reach alloc_pdc_pages.
My observations from ignite cloning logs are:

* Updating /etc/.supported_bits file and definition in SD database.
* Loading_software: Complete
* Build_Kernel: Begin
* Tuned kernel for large swap space: "maxswapchunks 3184".
* Building a new kernel using the command: "/usr/sbin/mk_kernel -o
/stand/vmunix".

The rp3410 (or rp3440) doesn't support the antiquated 11.0 HP-UX release:

I beg to differ with you. Hardware difference might be a problem here. The N4000 is similar but not exactly the same as a L class. N class hardware came into HP via acquisition an is unique. It is different from any other HP hardware.

I believe your best bet is an Ignite Golden image, which is less hardware dependent and uses a Core OS image to build the base operating system.

Doing an Ignite Golden Image of a 11.00 system is going to be a bit of a challenge as 11.00 is out of support.

Ignite version might be a factor here. Ignite up to date on an 11.11 system is more capable of handling hardware changes than the last Ignite version released on 11.00 platform.
