Ignite error after fresh install

I just installed HP-UX 11.23, from the December 2005 kit, on a test N-Class machine. When I try to do an Ignite backup, I get the following error:

* Checking Versions of Recovery Tools
* Creating System Configuration.
* /opt/ignite/bin/save_config -f /var/opt/ignite/recovery/client_mnt/0x0
0306E0C3CE7/recovery/2006-08-14,13:47/system_cfg vg00
save_config: Error - cannot determine lv "/dev/vg00/lvol2" usage via fstyp
ERROR: /opt/ignite/bin/save_config failed

lvol2 is the standard HFS swap volume.

Any ideas on what is causing this error and what the fix is?

Re: Ignite error after fresh install

check syslog and check swapinfo -nt. Also see lvlnboot -v vg00 to see if it is properly configured or not. If not run lvlnboot -R to fix it.

Swapinfo and lvlnboot both look good.

Re: Ignite error after fresh install

I think this was a known problem with a specific version of ignite with 11.23. I had the same issue and once I upgraded to the latest version it worked.

I'm 99% sure I found this answer from the forums here or some source google found.
