Ignite from 11.23 to 11.31 on a Vpar
Hello;
I have RP8420's with 2 Vpars on the same cell both on 11.23
Can I Ignite to 11.31 on one Vpar only or do I have to reinitialize the vpar and then install the 11.31 o/s
thanks much;

Re: Ignite from 11.23 to 11.31 on a Vpar
I would do a cold install of 11.31 anyway.
Make sure to read the admin guide about mixed environments!
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

relly didnt get the difference in Ignite to 11.31 and reinitialize.
==> Cold install with Vpar.
==> Remember, in mixed environement you should boot your vpmon from latest one.
==> As Torsten said, go through the doc before you do anything.

Re: Ignite from 11.23 to 11.31 on a Vpar
Hi,
If your going with v3 you need to down time of entire npar.
Actual procedure is:
Take configuration details of all vpars.
down all vpars.
boot in npar mode.
install v3 on npar.
recreate all vpar using configuration like boot disk cpu mem etc.
boot using vpar mode.
boot each vpar one by one.
