Re: Ignite (hpux 10.20)
i will swremove this version of ignite and download a new version that has the -m option .
you can download the new ignite from this link : http://www.software.hp.com/products/IUX/download.html
in all docs , the -m is the only option that i have found ( this is also for tar and cpio and pax )

Re: Ignite (hpux 10.20)

can this work?
Modify the defaults file, which is either:
/var/opt/ignite/clients/0x{LLA}/recovery/defaults or
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/defaults
with the following:
ARCHIVE_TYPE=cpio
But i dun have this file

Re: Ignite (hpux 10.20)
i dont know on any workaround , i didnt install this option but first you need to check the pax patch version that is install on your system .
if you have the patch PHCO_20388 install download the new version of the ignite .
recommended to use this version ? it dep. what is the reason but from what i have look , i didnt found any workaround , it is impotented to know that this is not a problem with ignite but a porblem that cpio , tar and pax has .

Re: Ignite (hpux 10.20)
pax does not like the long path/filenames.
The workaround to these errors is to use make_recovery with the -p (preview mode). It will create a list of files that will be backed up. Edit this file to remove these entries. (The entries listed above are icons which are not critical to the backup anyway.) Once the file is edited, restart the backup with the -r (resume) switch.
See the man page or the Ignite user's guide for further details.
