I'm creating backup and restore scripts for ignite and while my ignite config looks good under /var/opt/ignite/clients/
ie hostname -> correctMAC
on reinstall, the lanscan output is not the same as ignites (GUI) view hardware.
what's gone wrong?
no mention of macs in /var/opt/ignite/data/../config.local or core11i.cfg
ignite version is:B.3.7.96 on 11.00
Later,
Bill

SolutionI do not remember file names, but there are ones where mac addresses are written on installation. If you load this image to anoter hpux host mac addresses become the same as on original host :-(
Simpy on bootup hpux takes these mac address values from this file and overrides original card's mac addresses.
If you wish I can research which file to look for. I remember there are 2 files, for 10mb and 100mb cards. You simpy should remove these mac addresses, and originals will stay in effect.
