Guys
i am trying to push a new image onto a server and keep getting Fatal error cannot ping server.
but i can ping the server in both directions without a problem and ssh to the server and remotly reboot from within ignite.
so my question is is there a reference in the archive.cfg or system.cfg that is used to identify the IP rather than the normal name resolution.
regards
andrew

Solution
Tell us more. At what point do you see the ping issue? What method, command are you using to "push"? Maybe attached an install.log file?
If you are trying to automatically clone a recovery image, all networking settings must be reset on the new machine. Most folks do this interactively via the target console Ignite panels at install time.
If you are trying to find all of the places in archive.cfg, system.cfg, where networking parms are set, most are in system.cfg. The ones you may want to check are
final system_name
final ip_addr, etc
but there are a bunch more...
