I got an issue using Ignite. I want to restore a server from tape.
This is what I did:
1. Booted the system
2. When it asksed for a key intuption for interupting the boot sequence I pressed a key.
3. Prompt
4. SEA command.
5. Checked which is a tape device (it was mentioned as a Sequencial Device).
6. BO P5
7. Pressed N for IPL.
8. boot from the tape.
9. Selected non-interactive recovery
This is the final output of the command:

When I choose "run a recovery shell" then I have to have some commands. I don't know which.
Please let me know if you hav any idea how I can recover the Ignite backup.

SolutionWhat you really need to choose is "Install HP-UX". This will recover your system.
The "Ignite/UX Administration Guide" has information on how to recover from a tape.

As Patrick stated, you want to select Install HP-UX
If you are restoring to the same system you made the ignite tape from, you can use the non-interactive recovery. If you are restoring to a different system, it is bestt o use the advanced installation
