Ignite Recovery tape
make_recovery process fails with the following message "make_recovery(482): call to system failed error=0"
Then activates the cleanup process.
The system is a HP9000 D370/2 way running HPUX10:20.
I've removed the ignite software and installed the latest version from the December 2001 10:20 apps cd.

Re: Ignite Recovery tape
Look at the following from knowledge base:
Problem Description
I get the following errors when I execute the 'make_recovery -A' command:
make_recovery(482): call to system failed. errno=0
make_recovery(284): Invalid -d /dev/rmt/0m
Why am I getting this errors?
Configuration Info
Operating System - HP-UX
Version - 10.20
Hardware System - PA9000
Series - K580
Solution
Your errors indicate that you are using an invalid media. For example,
you could be using a 120 meter tape instead of a 60 meter tape.
To resolve this problem:
1. Check and/or replace your tape with either the correct media, or
a new media.
2. Ensure that the media is not write-protected.
3. Ensure that the media is properly inserted into the tape drive.

Re: Ignite Recovery tape
The problem was caused by "stale" extents on selected vg00 lvols on the mirrored half.
Normal resync commands were failing with I/O errors. I re-seated the HAAS disk thus activating the sync process.
Problem resolved.
