Ignite Restore

I have just done an ignite restore to from one server to another. When I try to boot the server from the pimary boot path I get the ISL prompt and I can't get past it.

Is there something more that I need to do?

Re: Ignite Restore

You can check your set boot path is correct or when you reboot server, interrupt within 10 second to go to PDL, then use commnad sea ipl (search bootable device). If it can not see anything, it mean that your ignite restoration is failed.
You also check backup ignite procedure in /var/opt/ignite/logs/makrec.log1 and makrec.log2 to find out it has completed or what problem when it was backing up.

Re: Ignite Restore

Interrupt within 10 secs upon booting, ensure that you have tape inserted, search for other boot paths (> search ipl), boot from the tape (> bo path_of_tape)
as long as the ignite tape is not corrupted u should be able to boot via ignite. there should be a menu after this...

Re: Ignite Restore

How many disk your server contains. If you restore from ignite tape to server well. server must able to boot.
1, Have you add new disk to server?
2, check boot disk on PDC
=====AT THIS STEP PRESS ANY KEY TO SEARCH BOOT DISK============
Primary boot path: 0/0/1/1.2
Alternate boot path: 0/0/2/0.2
Console path: 0/0/4/1.0
Keyboard path: 0/0/4/0.0

Processor is booting from first available device.

To discontinue, press any key within 10 seconds.

Re: Ignite Restore

The ignite restore was already done.

When I reboot the server I stop the bootup process. I do a sea ipl and it finds the root disk that I selected. When I 'bo p0' it tries to load then just goes to an ipl prompt.
