Is it possible to backup to an Ignite server which is on a different subnet tio the client?

SolutionYes, you have to build an Ignite boot helper.

Don't worry about what version of the OS is involved, Ignite works the same on all platforms.

Have to agree with the last post.
It actually is much easier to do this through a private switch. If it is physically possible, that is what should be done.

Installing it however can be an issue, depending on your setup, because default install protocols do not span subnets.
Most Itanium clients have a firmware 'dbprofile' command that makes this less of an issue. PA-RISC clients are harder.
