Re: ignite server

Hi Team,

My concern is to take the ignite backup of ignite server.I cant use make_tape_recovery since no tape drive attached to the same.Whether make_net_recovery can be used to achieve the same..

During the recovery phase which option i should select from efi boot manager to recover the OS from ignite server

please suggest..

You need use make_net_recovery ,

make_tape_recovery -> Ignite backup via tape
make_net_recovery -> via "Ignite Server" by network

check man pages for above commands, to give clear picture

Better is to use dbprofile, look at this tips
http://www.hpuxtips.es/?q=node/125
If you don't want to configure dbprofile, just do a lanboot and select you lan interface.

Re: ignite server

Hi

Two ignite servers. One for prod one for dev. Dev backups up prod, prod backs up dev.

If I under stand your question correctly ..At the event ignite server failure ,you wont be restore your system(ignite server) from the backup ..

you may have to approach one of the solution for taking your ignite server's back up

1) Take backup on tape
2) Take backup on dvd (but limited up to 4Gb image size)
3)configure DRD for vg00
4)store make_net backup on some other server

Re: ignite server

Hi,
If you want to recover from an ignite backup.
Go to efi shell, and do a lanboot, select the desired lanboot and that's all.
After, you get the choice of the target OS for you 11.23 and the image to recover.

Re: ignite server

Hi Himacs,

First you have to configure one server, lets say server1 as a ignite server and add the ignite server, let's say server2 as a client in server1. You add the vgs or filesystems as your wish. The main this is that you need to check check whether both server will support lanboot.
Please let me know if you need any more help.
