Ignite UIX server

Hi!

I have two archives of two hosts on my Ignite UIX server.
For example archive1 from host A and archive2 from host B.
Is it possible to install archive1 on host B or archive2 on host A ?

thanx.

Re: Ignite UIX server

You can install archives from other machines, but there are a lot of caveats mainly, that the machines are similar hardware. For instance, a D-class archive will never work on an rp-series machine. Also, the primary boot interface should be the same, so if one is SCSI and the other is fibre, it will likely fail. It's very important to download the latest Ignite/UX version at least 2x each year.

Re: Ignite UIX server

Hi Igor,

For this you need same hardware. Also the hardware paths should be identical. But what is your idea behind this or just a query?

Cheers!!!

You can Install..But make sure tat the hardware and boot path is same. But if you want to change the filesystem size, you can do while doing ignite.

Re: Ignite UIX server

I want to install recovery archive from B132 to B2000 workstation. I need to have temporary copy of server B132 on B2000, while doing some work on B132.
When I try to recover B2000 client from Ignite UIX TUI, I dont see the name of B132 recovery in drop down list that provides names of archives that can be installed.
