Ignite-UX 11i install question...

We recently upgraded one of our servers from 11.0 to 11i using update-ux. Ignite is still at the 11.0 version level. If we install Ignite 11i, will it require a reboot?

No, the installation of Ignite/UX does NOT require a reboot of the machine.

Just download the 11i version, swremove the 11.0 version, and swinstall the 11i version of Ignite/UX and you are all set.

PHSS_27858 is a required patch and will require a reboot.

Since autoreboot=true for the Ignite install a reboot will also be required.

NO, installing or removing Ingite UX does not require a reboot.

When I did a cold install of Ignite for 11-11, as its called there was no reboot.

Though I did need to use the following command line.

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s /tmp/ignite-11-11.depot \*

I don't know why this was.

I did find that it was necessary to use swremove on Ignite prior to installing the new version. Just something to keep in mind in case you get inconsistencies after doing the upgrade.

Do it right first and you don't get to do it over.
