Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

Hi,

I am getting the following error while trying to restore an ignite image to one integrity blade and it stops. Here I am attaching the file file " /var/opt/ignite/data/Rel_B.11.31/core_archive_cfg "

* Download_mini-system: Complete
* Loading_software: Begin
* Installing boot area on disk.
* Formatting HP Service Partition.
* Enabling swap areas.
* Backing up LVM configuration for "vg00".
* Number of archives to install: 1
* Processing the archive source (Recovery Archive).
* Wed Jul 28 05:42:53 EDT 2010: Starting archive load of the source (Recovery Archive).
cat: Cannot open /tmp/ign_configure/archive_nfs/2010-07-20,10:06: No such file or directory
* Completed 0 KBytes of archive

gunzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
pax_iux: The archive is empty.
ERROR: Cannot load OS archive (Recovery Archive)

The configuration process has incurred an error, choose one of the following options

1) abort and reboot

Thanks..

Re: Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

Hi,
As per log "The archive is empty"

I think you have entered wrong media into tape drive or your tape is not having the Ignite backup copy...

Re: Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

Here I am trying to restore from the Ignite-Server, and not from the Local Tape Drive.

Re: Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

Hi,

Can you please give the details of ignite backup log for the ignite client.

The log will be available in ignite server. File is
/var/opt/ignite/clients//recovery/latest/recovery.log

Is there any error in the log?

Also check inside /var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives//

Is there any file existing there? What all files are there and what is there size?

Re: Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

Pramod,

Is this the real location of your archives ?

/tmp/ign_configure/archive_nfs/2010-07-20

Re: Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

No. The location of archives is on ignite server /igniteimage, which is a exported filesystem from ignite server.And the directory "2010-07-20,10:06" is existing inside /igniteimage.

Re: Ignite_UX Client Restore Error

"Cannot open /tmp/ign_configure/archive_nfs/2010-07-20,10:06: No such file or directory"

Have you ever been able to install any recovery images?

Have you checked the file permissions on the archive path?

Is the NFS export really working?

Is the /igniteimages filesystem mounted?

Concerned that nothing in your archive path contains the hostname of the client. Since you are using a non-standard path, how can you tell where the image came from? Or could be overwritten by another client? All of my archives have the client name in the path.
