Ignite UX help

I have a server without a tape drive. i installed IgniteUX 3.3.x because it can do what i heard called make_net_recovery. I am trying to figure out how to do this. Anyone have a procedure for this? and is there any web sites, white papers that have instructions?

any help is appreciated.

Re: Ignite UX help

You should be able to do a "man make_net_recovery".

Re: Ignite UX help

Hi,

I would suggest you to get a local tape drive installed on the server.

Anyway, Here is the link for the make_net_recovery

Also have a look at the documentation in the file:

Re: Ignite UX help

You would pick a system that you want to be an Ignite server. It should have a lot of space in /var/opt/ignite.
export your DISPLAY
ignite
this will lead you through the setup
You should setup a temporary IP address for
recovering with. You do not have to load in install CDs unless you want to do network installs.
I find it best to do the archive from the client.
make_net_archive -i -s Ignite_server
i is interactive
