After my two servers are ready.. Do I need to create Ignite-UX on the server in Bay 1 or the one in Bay 2 in a C7000 enclosure.
While doing a Ignite UX do I need to give Static IP's to the server.

SolutionIMHO a server should have a static Ip - always.
If you have a DHCP server running, you can configure and assign a DHCP address.
But why?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

NOTE: The "checkinstall" for "Update-UX.SD-TCH-H-MSG,r=B.11.31.0803.317"
gave an Exclude return (exit code "3"). The script location was "/tmp/
ign_configure/SD_CDROM/catalog/Update-UX/SD-TCH-H-MSG/checkinstall".
* Running "checkinstall" for "Update-UX.UUX2-OS-LIBS,r=B.11.31".
NOTE: The Update-UX.UUX2-OS-LIBS fileset is intended to be installed
only during execution of the update-ux command. Thus, the
Update-UX.UUX2-OS-LIBS fileset will exclude itself from
installation at this time.

Re: Ignite UX
I could not understand your question at all.
What I guess from your update is that you are trying new HP-UX installation on two servers and you don't have ip to assign them. If i am not wrong system won't allow you to proceed without assign an IP.
What you can do is, assing some temporary ip and continue installation. Later on you can change the ip without any hurt.
And why you are hurry to take ignite backup on new installations?
Ganesh.

Re: Ignite UX
???
1) get the MAC address from the client, e.g.
EFI Shell> lanaddress
2) configure this addresses into bootptab on the ignite server
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Ignite UX
Let me explain what I have done on this Server. This is a Brand New bl860 Blade shipped with the C7000 Enclosure. I have 7 other similar Blades in this server. And need to Install HP-UX 11.31 on all of them and so making one of the servers as Ignite & then ignite the other Clients.

Re: Ignite UX
I think the most easy way for you is to use the dbprofile from clients EFI shell.

Hope this helps!

Re: Ignite UX
This is the MAC of the MP!!!
this one is NOT used by ignite!
You need to use one of the integrated NICs (you already have these addresses - use them or better DBPROFILE).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
