ignite-ux
Kofi: yes the client I was trying to boot is a K420, I have a 700/735 which may not be bootable over the network. what is the url that takes me to the documentation?
Chris: that is what I am looking for, I am going to modify the bootptab on the server as you suggest then on the client I am going to shutdown the client, interrupt the boot sequence and then
boot lan.080009-nnnnnn where 080009-nnnnnn is the hardware address of the server
Most of the Ignite documetation takes the point of view that the client is already running and the task is to upgrade the operating system. My point of view is that I must prepare for the time when the root disk on the client dies. For this reason, I find it hard to follow the documentation.
At any rate Chris I am going to try your suggestion.
I won't be able to rate your answers until Wednesday July 19.
