Ignite-UX

I'm trying to install Ignite-UX. I downloaded the file ignite_10.20.tar but I can get it installed. I want to use it to make a bootable recovery tape. Can anyone help?

Re: Ignite-UX

Hi,
I'm not auite sure if it works thatwqay, but usually Ignite-UX is located on the Application CD's.
You can install it with swinstall (which means that you should have a depot file, maybe it is included in your tar archive)!
If you have some more questions or information let me know!

Re: Ignite-UX

Make sure you do not un-tar the downloaded file first. Just use swinstall and point it to the depot where you have the file loaded.

If swinstall fails, we'd need to know the error message that it fails with.

Use the downloaded file as it will be the most current version.

Re: Ignite-UX

Cheryl is correct, do not untar the file.

for instance, if the ignite_10.20.tar was in the /tmp dir

swinstall -s /tmp/ignite_10.20.tar \*

If I had only read the instructions first??

Re: Ignite-UX

if the file is a depot (even if it is a tar formatted depot) should it really have a .tar extension? I would have thought that a .depot extension would make more sense

Re: Ignite-UX

The use of the tar extension on the Ignite-UX depot is misleading. I think that is something HP needs to look at. It does work when you do an swinstall though.
