Ignite

We are trying to make a system image across a network with the make_sys_image command. This traverses a firewall which will not allow connections back into the network where the originating server is located. The script seems to be failing as a result of a remote exec type command originating from the remote server back into the firewall. The server whose image we are trying to copy does not have enough disk space on it to create a local copy and ftp it through the firewall. (the firewall will allow ftp and nfs).
Any suggestions? Thanks. Stuck.

Re: Ignite

Hi,

Unless you open op your firewall a bit, you will get stuck with the make_recovery/make_tape_recovery command to create a recovery tape.

Re: Ignite

I had the identical problem you faced. They would not open the firewall. I had no choice but to attach an external tape drive unit and I made the boot image on a 4mm tape.
