Re: Ignite...

Ignite/UX is available here for FREE:

http://software.hp.com/products/IUX/

I would swremove your current Ignite and then swinstall the new version.

Re: Ignite...

If you fail to swremove a version of Ignite that old, it will just sit there and could interfere with the operation of the new version.

I'm currently runing 5.4.50

I'm not sure how much of your 2.0 configuration will be useful in the upgrade.

Re: Ignite...

You cannot have a incomplete installation of Ignite-UX. If the initial analysis didnt succeed, SD-UX will not go ahead with the installation unless you choose to force it, under certain circumstances.

While installing the product, if it fails for whatever reason, I believe SD-UX will execute clean-up scripts for the product (provided one is available) and will not leave incomplete installation.

Atleast I have never seen an incomplete installation of any software so far.

Re: Ignite...

If you are running make_net_recovery sessions okay to an ignite server you could come across problems when trying to do a make_tape_recovery to tape. It is possible to have two different versions running for these two different jobs. WHat I suggest you do is remove the existing A5725 product and re-install. The make_tape_recovery uses this fileset, but make_net_recovery uses the IUX fileset.

You may have swremove one to get the other to work. Worse case scenario is to re-install it, but this does not require any downtime.

Re: Ignite...

Veronica,

When you do install the new copy of Ignite-UX, you should also ensure that the pax utility is patched, as Ignite relies heavily on it.

The latest pax cumulative patch for 11.00 is PHCO_30150. This patch has a very safe rating and has no warnings. It does have a dependency patch which, in turn has others.

You would be well-served to use the ITRC patch downloader to download this patch along with all dependencies. It will package them into a depot and you can download it as a tar package.

Best Regards,

Dave
