Ignitebackup of standalone system, no tape drive
Struggling making an Ignite backup of my system. The system is delivered with a DVR-RW, no tape drive.
uname: HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64
model: ia64 hp server rx2660
There is a script named "/opt/ignite/data/scripts/examples/make_opticaldisc_recovery". But this is designed to use an ignite server during the backup.
On previous tape systems, I just give the command "make_tape_recovery -A", then I have a bootable tape with a complete backup.
Any way to do the same to an DVD system?

Re: Ignitebackup of standalone system, no tape drive
You could transform your server on a ignite server like that you must perform an
#make_opticaldisc_recovery Ignite_server_name
Look at the Ignite-UX Admin Guide
1 4.3 Creating a Boot CD/DVD or an Installation DVD
Hope it helps

Re: Ignitebackup of standalone system, no tape drive
if you have SAN attaced to the server you could use DRD to clone the system.
