Igniting PA Clients

Igniting PA Clients

Hi All,
I am in a process of igniting the PA client. I boot clients from PDC as:
Main Menu> bo lan. install

It boot's and find's the Ignite server but when it comes to "Loading User Interface" it say "no space on filesystem". I am not sure which filesystem it is talking about. I checked Ignite server but it is fine. BDF show everything is normal.
This is happening before i get that UI where you configure Filesystems, SOftware Applications, System parameters.

Need your help regarding this.

I am using boot helper since my clients are in different subnet.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Igniting PA Clients

Does your boot helper have any filesystems full?

Re: Igniting PA Clients

Hi Again,
Let me update my question with wome more details:

1. I have a IA Ignite server.
2. IA/PA client in the same subnets are getting ignited fine.
3. i am seeing bootpd daemon running there on Ignite server.
4. But on boot helper it show's both bootpd and instl_bootd
5. If i only use bootpd on boot helper and not instl_bootpd then my PA clients doesn't recognise the Ignite server.

Hope that make my situation clear.
Thanks and responses awaited.

Re: Igniting PA Clients

1. I have a question whether INSTALL and INSTALLFS file's from Ignite server get's copied to Boot Helper machine and if so where?.
2. Secondly My boot helper machine is HPUX 11.11 and Ignite is running HPUX 11.23. Whether this matters?
Thanks,
Bharat

Re: Igniting PA Clients

Bharat,

Are the versions of the Ignite-UX filesets on the server and helper the same? I'm not very experienced with ignite, but I've read that this is important.

Can you post the Ignite filesets and versions installed on your 11.23 server and 11.11 helper?

Best Regards,

Dave

Re: Igniting PA Clients

It's ok for me
ignite 11iv1 11iv2 on ignite IA server

/etc/bootpab:

ignite-defaults:\
ht=ethernet:\
hn:\
bf=/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi:\
bs=48

System-IPF:\
tc=ignite-defaults:\
ha=00d009000000:\
ip=190.40.101.22:\
sm=255.255.248.0:\
gw=190.1.48.1:\
ds=190.1.48.11

System-pa:\
hn:\
vm=rfc1048:\
ht=ether:\
ha=00306E0CF989:\
ip=190.40.101.23:\
sm=255.255.248.0:\
gw=190.1.48.1:\
ds=190.1.48.11:\
bf=/opt/ignite/boot/boot_lif

You should desactivate the dhcp_class_id
look man of instl_adm
instl_adm -d (to see if there is one)

Re: Igniting PA Clients

Hi all and vincent,
Sorry for not posting back the result.
Problem was with corrupt SYSCMDS file in Ignite server.
Replaced it and got the problem solved.
Thanks
